Bridget Jones's Diary
Bridget Jones has decided to take control of her life by keeping a diary of her life including her insecurities, obsessions and most of all, her love life, or lack thereof. Her quest to find Mr. Right soon turns into a love triangle between her twisted boss, Daniel Cleaver, and uptight lawyer, Mark Darcy, who happen to despise each other. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for in “Bridget Jones’s Diary”.
· Bridget is at the restaurant with her friends. Tom opens the box on the table in front of him and pulls out the phone cover, still in its plastic. He proceeds to slide the cover out of the plastic. Tom asks, “is that cleavage app as cute as ever”. He’s still holding the case in the plastic and takes it out again.
· Also during this scene, someone notices Tom and approaches him while Bridget narrates, the view shows Tom holding his cigarette in his left hand. It cuts to a wider view when Shazza asks, “more vodka”, as the man is walking away, and Tom’s cigarette is in his right hand.
· Bridget is typing her messages to Daniel Cleaver. In the views of her sitting at her desk, while typing about her skirt, Bridget’s chair changes position on the back of the chair. At times, the coat is laying in the middle, with the sleeve on top and other times the coat covers most of the back of the chair.
· Bridget is pulling on her “grannie panties” while getting ready for the event. Nothing is underneath to cover her legs. Later, when she’s with Daniel and he starts lifting her dress, Bridget is now wearing black hose with the “grannie panties” over them.
· Bridget shows up late to dinner with her married friends. Her friend, Cosmo, makes the “office ink” comment. Bridget raises her glass and it’s only half full when she drinks from it. Cosmo remarks, “tic toc” and the view switches back to Bridget. Her wine glass is now almost full. It’s half full again when Cosmo makes the “women in their 30s” remark.
“Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001) stars Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Gemma Jones, Jim Broadbent, Celia Imrie, Felicity Montagu, Shirley Henderson, Sally Phillips and James Callis. It runs 97 minutes and is rated R for language and some strong sexuality.
