Good, Clean Murder Book Review

Good, Clean Murder Book Review
Someone asked why I read Christian books. This person has made the assumption that all Christian fiction and romance books are contrived, boring, shallow, and preachy. That may be applicable to some, but not all books. Actually, the same can be said of many secular books. The outcome is predictible, the book harps on "the gospel of whatever social issue the author is pushing", and the characters are underdeveloped and unbelievable. You ask, why bring that up here? Because, this is one of three books I have read lately to which those very statements do not apply.

If you are looking for a light, entertaining read, A Good, Clean Murder by Traci Tyne Hilton fits the bill. The main character steps away from family money and its accompanying expectations in order to attend a Christian school. In an effort to stand on her own two feet, she starts her own cleaning company taking on clients who are in her parents' social circle. Arriving at work one day, she discovers her best paying clients dead. As the story unfolds, she begins to question the findings, and helps to unravel the mystery surrounding their deaths. The book includes struggles with faith, family, finances, and romance without being overly religious or trashy. Hilton develops her characters which enables the reader to empathize with them.

A Good, Clean Murder: A Plain Jane Mystery is available from online retailers such as amazon.com.
