Raspberries and Vinegar

Raspberries and Vinegar
Three eco-conscious friends decide to trust God and each other. They move to the country where they plan on starting an organic co-op farm. Upon arriving, they find their new temporary accomodations is a rodent filled trailer. The town, quaint and friendly, is anything but eco-conscious. Even the local farmers use pesticides and modified seeds. What have they gotten themselves into? Will they be able to succeed?

Thankfully, the girls quickly become friends with the property's prior owners and some local residents who all chip in to help the girls. As the story unfolds, the reader obtains a limited education on the "green" topics. Comer weaves in biblical lessons and provides a simple, entertaining story about family relations, trusting God, living out your purpose, and being good stewards. Mostly enjoyable and well developed, the budding romance between Jo (Josephine) and Zach is rushed. At times juvenile, others fragile, it is never developed yet culminates in a proposal that seems rushed. Aside from that, the book was enjoyable and worth reading. It left me wanting to check out the subsequent books in the series. And, it ended with a recipe--for what else, but raspberry vinegar.
