Low Carb Diets - The Fat Flush Plan

Low Carb Diets - The Fat Flush Plan
Created in 2002, the Fat Flush Plan is a recent low carb diet plan by nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman. It follows low carb basics and helps focus on bloating or plateau issues.

Like the Atkins and South Beach diets, the first phase of the Fat Flush Plan is a 2 week initial period. Just like the other diets, a key aim is to cut out the processed foods, salts and sugars that can cause bloating issues.

After that, you move into a more gradual weight loss period where you slowly add back in the grains and carb-rich foods to see how they affect your body.

The diet promotes eating healthy antioxidant-rich vegetables, omega-3 fatty acids, and other healthy foods. In a step that distinguishes it from the other low carb diets, it speaks out strongly against inorganic proteins, saying that the hormones used could affect your health.

She also encourages taking certain fats for health - flaxseed oil and primrose oil.
